With Homegrown Strength, you have the opportunity to establish a well rooted foundation that will allow you to grow into a dominant and standout athlete. We provide our athletes with a fully prepared and scientifically backed program that will decrease the risk of injury and increase game day performance.
CULTIVATING champions
from the ground up.
Our mission is to provide each athlete the opportunity to enhance their coordination, strength, power, speed, and mental fortitude while reducing the incidence of injuries by designing orthopedically sound and physically challenging training programs.
The role of a strength and conditioning coach is to provide a structured and fully prepared program founded upon scientific principles and safe training methodologies applicable in a team setting to accomplish three main goals: (1) Keep student-athletes healthy and “on the field”, (2) Assist in the development of responsible young adults and (3) Improve game day performance.
The holistic design of the strength and conditioning program should follow the principles of specificity, overload, and progression in order to derive the neuromuscular, physiological, and structural adaptations needed to meet the demands of the sporting environment.
Whitney Brumfield is the Director of Sports Performance at Homegrown Strength. For the last 5 years she has worked as a Strength & Conditioning Coach at multiple Division I Universities.
Whitney has established herself with a solid foundation in the strength & conditioning field, but her desire to learn and grow as a coach never stops. Developing relationships with athletes, watching them become stronger and more confident, and seeing the results show up on game day are her favorite parts about her job.
